Further to the fire which took place at our Croydon Purley Way store on 31st December 2018 we want to continue keeping you updated.
We have carefully considered the best way of making counselling available to anyone in need of it. We have set up a partnership with Mind in Croydon, which has offered its services to anyone in need of counselling support.
If you contact them on 020 8763 2064 or email@example.com stating your Shurgard customer number (which you can find on your Shurgard contract, invoice or insurance certificate), we will work with them to cover the cost of your counselling sessions.
If you have already been working with Mind in Croydon, we will also work with them to retrospectively cover the cost of your past counselling sessions.
With regards to insurance claims – we can confirm a rapid refund process is to be offered and made possible for customers that have an insurance in place through Shurgard (around 90% of our customers):
For customers with own insurance – we remind customers (see 2nd January’s email) to contact their own insurer or broker as claim procedures are specific to each company. We remain at your disposal in all cases for required information.
We have also set up an alternative phone number: you can call the 0800 368 2202 seven days a week during our office hours. This number will connect you with the first available Shurgard store where the staff will do all possible to offer further assistance.
We also continue collaborating closely with all involved parties in order to identify the source and cause of the fire.
