Our booking was efficient, with friendly service delivered in a non rushed manner. We were shown the properties and made to feel welcome.
It took me hours to register for the storage space due to systems issues, time I had taken off as annual leave. However Cecil who was the store assistant was fantastic in his service on that day, and in finding a workaround that allowed me to get the storage space access when I needed it. The service post that visit was bad whereby I was drip-fed requests for various information that had either not been stored correctly and therefore I had to repeat providing certain information, or I was told I should have been asked for it upon registering but wasn't.

Excellent service. Helpful staff .Repaired light in unit within minutes of my reporting it broken. Good introductory rate on internet. Spent a whole day at the unit sorting out my items for storage, had to use their toilets - kept clean by staff. Coffee/lunch available nearby at Toby Carvery if have to spend a few hours at the unit this is very handy. Excellent access hours. Very convenient.

I reserved a space online and received a callback very quickly. The sales guy was really helpful and pleasant and let me know about a discount I had missed when booking. He signed me up quickly and made everything clear. When I came in to sign contracts etc the 2 people at the counter were lovely and friendly and talked me through the paperwork. I was then shown to my unit and everything was demonstrated to me. Great service and friendly people

Good service from reception staff when starting the hire period. Why have a triangular shape room? -who has triangular shaped boxes!! Seems a little bit unwise to have built a unit that shape. Staff were helpful when changing to a much more suitable unit. There needs to be more trolleys. On our move day, a couple of other people were also there who'd taken all but one trolley. Our unloading would have been much easier if we'd have been able to have access to more trolleys

Service at the desk and checking-in was good. No issues at all and very organised. However I had not been told about the key cost. The worst part was getting the articles into the storage. There was only one narrow door available for the trolleys. There is a metal bar in the floor (draught excluder or something) which jolted the trolly whilst pushing delicate articles. The door was on a 'heavy' closing mechanism which required one person to hold the door and another to push the trolley over the metal bar in through the narrow opening. Impossible to do alone without blocking the door open using the fire-extinguisher which is what everyone else did! The trolleys are meant for a cash-and-carry. I had furniture including delicate antique chairs which would not sit on the metal bars of the trolley, they fell through the gaps in the base of the trolley. COMPLETLEY UNSUITABLE The trolleys do not have sides to them so it is impossible to stack anything other than square boxes. The aisles are narrow and the corners very tight with a loaded trolley.

Went to shurguard planing to move in when I realised we had booked in with with a diffrent company oops however when speaking with Ann who still helped us with the right size room we decided to move in there and then we where pain in the butt customers as notting went right but Ann sorted all are problams out and we walked away stress free she is an absolute legend of a ladie and a great asset to your company SERVICE 10/10 all the way thanks.

People were very helpful over the phone when I was looking for quotes. However there were a few issues. The first was that I had been advised by my moving surveyor as to how much space I needed for the storage, but the shurgard person on the phone insisted that I give them a list of my furniture so that they could advise me on the correct size. They then advised me to get a much larger unit. I am glad that I insisted on sticking with my original size as everything fit easily and the larger one would have been a waste of my money. The second issue was that I directly asked if I would need to purchase a padlock and was told that this was all included, then when I went to sign my contract and get access to my unit I was told that I would have to pay extra for a lock. On the day of signing my contract, the office was very busy, but the employee in the office was very helpful, and apologised that I had to wait a while to be served, which is all I can really ask for as I could see that she was working very hard. The unit itself is well laid out with a large door, making it easy to get everything in and out. One small thing - the lift door closes quite quickly if you taking things in and out and there is no way to keep it open whilst you are loading/unloading it.

From the moment I contacted Shurgard by phone, I have been very impressed by the exceptional standard of customer service the company provides. It was this exceptional customer service which made me take out a contract with the company. The exceptional level of customer service has continued: when I went to finalise the contract and collect the keys to my storage unit, I found myself running late, yet the staff at the Greenford site kept their office open for 20 minutes after it was due to close to make sure that I could collect the keys. This saved me an incredible amount of inconvenience. It was Outstanding. Shurgard is a great company!!

This was my first visit to the unit since signing my contract and it was not a positive experience. I found the following: 1. Absence of trolleys at the branch when we arrived. Luckily a kind stranger lent us there's for a short period. If not, it would have involved carrying heavy boxes and increased the time spent moving my items into my unit. They also told us something very concerning - that the lack of trolleys was due to other customers keeping them in their storage units. If this practice is indeed happening, then Shurgard need to implement a system to stop this. 2. Intercom to front desk either not working or being ignored. We had to go back outside and walk around to the front desk to get the help we needed. On mentioning this to the front desk staff, they simply said that they were there 'covering' for the usual staff and didn't seem at all concerned. I had to ask them to pass this information onto the regular branch staff. Although I have no confidence that this was done. 3. Very poor signage after stepping out of the lift. I thought that my unit was on the 1st floor, however, upon stepping out of the lift on this floor I could see no signage for unit's numbered in the 3000's - only those numbers for 4000. This made me believe that I was on the wrong floor. I went back into the lift and tried the second floor but was unable to access. At this stage I realised that my unit had to be on the 1st floor and set about trying to locate it. After some wandering we managed to come across unit numbers in the 3000's and eventually found it. The lack of adequate signage in that part of the floor led to confusion and wasted time. All in all my first experience of Shurgard was far from satisfactory.
