  • How quickly can I move in?

You can move in on the same day as you make your enquiry (during office opening hours) providing that you have the relevant documentation needed to complete and sign your contract. Two forms of ID are required one of which must be a photo ID (passport or driving licence) and a utility bill less than 3 months old. Payment of a deposit and the first invoice must be made prior to moving in.  Please check with your store team.

We suggest you use our online size estimator to determine the room size that fits your need.  Select your preferred store on the store locator to request a price quotation. Our store manager will get back to you with a tailor-made solution.

  • Are there additional costs?

There is a one-off registration fee at the time of the move in. You will also be asked to pay a security deposit that is equal to one month’s rental. This deposit is not required if you sign up for direct debit payment. The deposit will of course be returned to you at the end of your contract, if applicable. You will be asked to purchase a custom made lock which has been designed to provide the highest security for your belongings.  Please note that insurance for your stored goods is not included in the rental rate.

  • How does the £1 promotion work?

The £1 promotion is only valid at selected stores on selected units and is subject to availability. When a customer rents a promotional unit, he will pay £1 for the first month’s rent and the full rent for each following month. This does not include insurance, the cost of the security lock and the registration fee.
There is no minimum stay required to benefit from the promotion. It is however limited to one storage unit per customer per storage centre and it cannot be combined with other promotions.

  • What about insurance?

Your goods must be insured whilst in storage. Shurgard offers a tailor made customer goods policy provided through our broker Marsh and leading insurer Avero. Please ask your store team for more details.
